Having your Thailand yoga retreat hosted with us could be one of the best decisions you've ever made. The following FAQs for teachers covers the most common questions we get about hosting a yoga retreat with Thailand Yoga Holidays.

How do I get started planning a retreat?

Begin by browsing our destinations to select the perfect venues for your trip. We usually recommend combining 2-3 destinations for a fuller experience. Then get in touch and we’ll work with you via email and Skype to fine-tune and finalize an itinerary based on your needs, schedule, and interests.

What is Thailand Yoga Holidays responsible for?

We’ll take care of all transportation, accommodation and excursion activities while your retreat is running in Thailand. This includes:

  • Handling registrations, deposits, payments and bookings
  • Helping with flyer design and marketing materials
  • Reserving hotel rooms and yoga spaces
  • Organizing group transportation between activities and destinations
  • Providing destination information, recommendations and guidance
  • Organizing meals and extracurricular activities, such as market and temple visits
What am I, the teacher, responsible for?

After getting an idea of logistics, like how long you want the retreat to run, how many students will be attending and what activities you’re interested in, we’ll take care of all the planning and leave you to what you do best – teach! You’ll be responsible for:

  • Encouraging your students to sign up
  • Organizing your transportation to Thailand
  • Teaching your classes during the retreat
  • Having fun!
How far in advance do I need to start planning a retreat and how long does it take to organize?

Though we can usually work with a tight turnaround time, the sooner you can start organizing the holiday and your group, the better. This allows guests plenty of time to sign up, book cheaper airfare and for all reservations to be finalized.

As a teacher, how will I find students?

We want you to succeed, which is why we offer a range of marketing materials, tools and extra support to help you reach your goal. As the teacher, you are responsible for finding and bringing your own participants, however Thailand Yoga Holidays will provide you with ongoing support including:

  • A branded, eye catching poster and flyer
  • A Marketing Guide with tips and tools to attract students within
your network
  • Ability to direct your students to our extensive images, videos
and testimonials
  • Listing your event on our social media and upcoming events
page for increased international exposure
Is there a limit to how large a group I can bring on a retreat?

The number of students you bring is up to you, however, all groups must have a minimum of 6-8 students with a suggested maximum of 16 students.

Will we have a guide available throughout the retreat?

Christophe is there for you from beginning to end in order to manage whatever happens to come up. He is also equipped with a reliable team of drivers, doctors, massage therapists, chefs and more to handle any situation.

What type of insurance is needed for my group?

It is essential that each participant purchases their own travel and health insurance prior to registering. More information and instructions are detailed in the waiver forms required of each participant.

What happens if something happens and I can’t teach at the retreat?

If for whatever reason you’re unable to teach the retreat, Thailand Yoga Holidays will arrange for a suitable replacement yoga instructor so students who have already booked, paid and bought their flights can still experience the holiday – we’ve got your back! In any case, all standard cancellation and refund terms apply.

What happens if Thailand Yoga Holidays cancels the retreat?

In the rare event that we have to cancel a retreat we will notify you at the earliest possible moment and give you and your students a full refund.

How much does the typical retreats cost per day?

Since all our trips are custom made, the price depends on factors such as location, length, and activities included. By and large, our retreats sell for $300USD per person, per night.

How much money will I make as a teacher?

Once we’ve agreed on your retreat itinerary, we’ll shoot you a wholesale per person price which you can mark up as you see fit. As a teacher, your room and board is always covered and the more students you bring, the more you profit!

Do you offer on the ground support?

You’ll be glad to have us on your team. From the moment you land, the founder Christophe Cappon, will be present to manage your group experience. From dietary restrictions to managing inevitable surprises, Christophe uses his network of local contacts and experience to offer you a truly VIP, Thailand experience.

What kind of yoga equipment do you offer?

We’ve got it covered with top-of-the-line yoga mats, blocks, straps, towels and luxurious foam rollers.

Do you offer photography services?

We can help you capture the magic with professional photographers
and compile eye-catching marketing material to help promote your next retreat.

What kind of food do you offer?

In order to expose students to the widest variety of Thai culinary experiences, most of our retreats don’t adhere to a specific diet. That being said, if you prefer to restrict your retreat to a specific meal plan that can also be arranged. Everything is possible!

How do students register and pay?

Shoot us a brief bio and a few catchy photos and we’ll set up your custom, retreat event page on the TYH website. Simply share that link with your students and we’ll handle all registrations, liability waivers and payments through PayPal, so you don’t have to worry about collecting payments, taxes or accounting.

Should you prefer to handle registrations and payments yourself, that’s perfectly fine – after all, it’s your retreat!

What if students have questions about the trip?

Once your students register for your retreat, we’ll be in touch with
them to answer any questions, help them prepare for the journey and
coordinate their airport transfers.
